Formerly Carden the Salon, we have served the Charlottesville, Virginia area since 1994. In 2005, Tashi and Gyaltsen Druknya purchased the business from John Carden, who continues with us as one of Salon Druknya’s senior stylists.

“Druknya” is a Tibetan name meaning “on a dragon’s shoulder”. Long ago, it described a village sitting atop a dragon-shaped mountain range in the far northeastern corner of Amdo, Tibet. Over the centuries it came to be a family name. As with Carden before us, putting our name on Salon Druknya reflects our personal commitment to stand behind our work, and to excellence in everything we do.
